CAN WE DO BETTER THAN LAST YEAR?

Did you hear the news? The new Michigan Achievement Scholarship is a historic investment by our state and will vastly improve college affordability for many families. Now more than ever, the FAFSA is a critical step to securing funds for postsecondary pathways. To determine eligibility for the Michigan Achievement Scholarship and other financial aid opportunities, students must complete the FAFSA.

This FAFSA Tracker provides accessible data for schools to better understand their current Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) completion. The goal is to increase Michigan’s FAFSA completion rate to 75%. Through the FAFSA Tracker tool, all College Bound Michigan (CBMI) sites will have access to an individual school profile displaying current FAFSA completion data, trends over time, and a comparison to previous FAFSA completion cycles. The Tracker is a great tool for school teams to track their school’s progress and to easily highlight the successes. The FAFSA data displayed on the tracker is provided by MI Student Aid.

The FAFSA completion rate is 25.7% compared to 38.8% at this same time last year.
